2022 Nissan Pathfinder, Frontier Teased for February Unveiled

Nissan has a new teaser website ahead of the debut of two models. Although the company does not specifically identify it, it’s clearly the next generation Pathfinder crossover and Frontier pickup. They debut February 4, 2021 at 1:00 PM EST.

While the teaser website tells us nothing about it, espionage and rumors fill in some gaps about these new vehicles. So far, Nissan has kept the Pathfinder development vehicles under heavy camouflage, but the version below is stripping the cover. The new front has style similarities with the recently refurbished Armada, such as the bracket-shaped headlights and the thicker V-section in the grille.

The revamped interior features a larger infotainment screen with a strip of buttons underneath. The center console has a gearbox and an electronic parking brake.

Mechanically, the new Pathfinder apparently shares its platform with the Altima and Maxima. A nine-speed automatic transmission can replace the CVT of the existing model. Under the hood, the crossover can use the Altima’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with variable compression.

2021 Nissan Frontier teaser

During the release of the Navara pickup for South America, the company may have boasted about the new Frontier (above). It’s the truck in the middle between the Titan and Navara.

Assuming this image is accurate, the new Frontier has a boxy face with rectangular headlights and a block grille. Even the fog lights have a small rectangular shape to emphasize the motif even more.

Spying footage from the Frontier cabin (in the gallery above) shows a new information system. The four-wheel drive system controller is on the middle stack and contains 2WD, 4WD Hi and 4WD Low settings.

Under the hood, there is the 2020 Frontier’s 3.8-liter V6 that currently delivers 310 horsepower (231 kilowatts) and 381 Newton meters of torque. The truck has a nine-speed automatic motor.
