Kia has released the first teasers of the 2022 EV6, which will be their first electric vehicle based on the new E-GMP platform.
The EV6, formerly known as the CV, will launch in the first quarter and features a bold design philosophy that ’embodies Kia’s shifting focus towards electrification.’
Speaking of the latter, the EV6 will be a sleek electric vehicle with a rough windshield that flows into a sloping roof. We also see streamlined bodywork, built-in door handles and an angled rear window.

Other notable highlights include slim LED headlights and muscular stern. The model also has a unique rear end with successive flashing lights and distinctive brake lights.
Kia remains light on the specs, but they should reflect the Hyundai Ioniq 5.. As a result, we can expect 58 and 72.6 kWh batteries, as well as rear and four-wheel drive configurations. The latter uses two electric motors that deliver a combined output of 302 hp (225 kW / 306 hp) and a torque of 446 lb-ft (605 Nm).
The four-wheel drive can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km / h) in 5.2 seconds, while the front-wheel drive model with the larger battery has a range of approximately 480 km (298 miles) in the World Harmonized Light Vehicle Testing Procedure .
Full details will be announced soon, but Kia has confirmed that their dedicated electric vehicles will have a naming strategy that offers ‘simplicity and consistency across global markets’. As you probably guessed, the names will start with an “EV” prefix followed by a number that matches the position of a vehicle in the range.
