With 668 horsepower on tap, it is the most powerful Cadillac production in history.
Cadillac
Cadillac unveiled some fast-paced cruise missiles on Monday. No, this stalwart luxury carmaker is not involved in the arms industry, even though its new Blackwing versions CT4-V and CT5-V cars are essentially rockets. With great power and a lot of technology, these two high-performance sports dances are ready to hurt competing models Audi, BMW and Mercedes-AMG.
The 2022 CT5-V Blackwing is an excellent product in more ways than one. To begin with, this is the most powerful production Cadillac has ever made. Keeping the great darkness in check, it also has the biggest brakes in the brand’s long history. From its aggressive bodywork to a tracked engine and a purposeful interior, this machine is all about speed. Consequently, maximum performance and driver engagement were top priorities during the development of this car and its little brother or sister, the CT4-V Blackwing.
The 6.4-liter LT4 V8 is a hand-built engine built in Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States. Chevy Corvette. Thanks to 46% more intake airflow and a freer breathing system, this engine delivers 668 horsepower and 659 pounds of torque.
A trio of interior themes are presented in the new CT5-V Blackwing, which should offer drivers plenty of choice.

The drive management is a standard six-speed manual gearbox (yes!). It is rotated by a two-disc clutch designed to withstand all the torque and provide a good pedal feel. For extra performance, active rev-matching and No-Lift Shift capability are standard. Thanks to these features, you can make perfect shifts every time and lock the accelerator with each gearbox so that the big V8 keeps pumping.
If you’d rather not want to dance the three-pedal shuffle, an automatic 10-speed automatic is available in the CT5-V Blackwing. This transmission can shift faster than some dual switches and with greater refinement to load. In terms of performance, with the self-shifting transmission, this Caddy can drive 60 km / h in just 3.7 seconds and the top speed is north of 200 km / h. The CT5-V Blackwing is only on the rear-wheel drive, but like its smaller sibling, it comes standard with an electronically limited slip differential for greater control in hard corners. Both cars are also equipped with Cadillac’s latest Magnetic Ride Control, which allows you to adjust the dampers according to your preferences, driving you smoothly for work and a much stiffer feel when you’re on course or driving your favorite back road.
The CT5-V Blackwing is well and safely stopped and withstands the insulting hot laps, and is equipped with massive Brembo brakes. At the front, the rotors measure a diameter of 15.7 centimeters and are clamped with six piston clamps. The rear discs are a bit smaller but still large, and it’s 14.7 inches. They are pushed by brake flaps with four pistons. If you take things a step further, you can also get a carbon ceramic brake system. Not only does this arrangement withstand heat even better than the standard set-up, it reduces the unstoppable mass by £ 53, which is a relatively large reduction.
Here it is, 6.2 liters of delicious shine.

The CT5-V features lightweight, forged aluminum wheels. These 19 cm wide rollers are equipped with custom Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires designed with special connections used specifically for Blackwing.
A series of different elements visually distinguish this car from lesser CT5s. To begin with, the bodywork is massaged to cut through the wind with less resistance. The front grids flow more air underneath to keep the temperature under control, and the car has a front splitter, a rear spoiler, functional mudguard openings and too many other elements to name a few. For extra looks and even better performance, a carbon fiber aero package is offered, which reduces the charge by 75%.
Inside, the CT5-V Blackwing has a familiar interior, which is nonetheless cracked compared to standard models. Customers have three different cabin decoration levels to choose from, which include different colors and materials, from basic leather chairs to buckets at the front, finished with imitation suede and carbon fiber. In terms of technology, the car is standard with a surround-view camera system and an always useful head screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an AKG sound system with 15 speakers and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster are also included for free. There is a high-performance steering wheel, a microfiber head cover and a second-generation Performance Data Recorder, so you can drive again. For a bit of visual flair, the manual gear models have a 3D-printed hood on top of the shift lever.
You can now book a 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, but deliveries will only begin later this summer. This ultra-performance sports sedan is also not cheap, although the prices are not that outrageous, considering how much you get. It starts at $ 84,990, including $ 995 destination fees.
