2022 BMW M5 CS will get 626 hp and cool gold wheels

While we would argue that the current BMW M5 is fast enough, today’s super-sedan customers always want more. Hence the 2022 BMW M5 CS. Following the CS formula established by the M2 and M3 / M4, the M5 CS will bring more power and less weight to the table. Today, Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW M, teased the M5 CS on Instagram and gave us another preview of the super-super-sedan.

The new M5 CS has 626 horsepower from its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8, an increase of nine hp over the current M5 competition package. The torque remains the same at 553 lb-ft, but before you get disappointed with these small engine changes, you should know that BMW claims the CS will be more than 150 pounds lighter than the regular M5. This is due in part to a carbon fiber hood and the crazy carbon bucket seats of the new M3 / M4.

In an Instagram Live story, Flasch also reveals the M5 CS ‘bronze kidney grille decoration and yellow headlights. The car also has very nice gold, forged wheels, with standard carbon-ceramic brakes behind them. The wheels are wrapped with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires measuring 275/35 front and 285/35 rear. We already know that the CS is fast in Hockenheim, and we can not wait to see what it can do in one of our local refuges.

Our colleagues at Car and driver announces that the M5 CS will be fully announced next month, so we do not have to wait too long to find out more.
