2021 North American International Motor Show canceled due to pandemic

DETROIT On Monday, the North American International Motor Show announced that it will not hold its annual event in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2020, NAIAS also canceled the event due to the pandemic. The show was canceled last year after it was announced that Detroit’s TCF center would become a temporary hospital for COVID patients.

As the event is canceled this year, officials show a “bridge to the future” revealed with an autocentric event called Motor Bella.

“The new event will bring the next generation of mobility and exciting debut vehicles to the world of media, showgoers and motoring enthusiasts in a never-before-experienced way, and also address the continuing concerns of COVID-19 about indoor events,” reads a statement from Bella Motor. .

Motor Bella will be held from 21-26 September 2021 at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac.

“The pandemic has caused changes in our society and world in ways we never thought possible, and we all need to look for new and creative ways to do business,” said Rod Alberts, executive director of Detroit Auto Dealers. Association and NAIAS, said.

‘This new opportunity captures the creative spirit. It offers new mobility experiences and increasingly innovative approaches to leverage the industry and its products. ”

Alberts said attendees can expect a multi-sensory experience during the new event. “This outdoor venue, with adrenaline pumping activities and a complete complement to OEM and technology exhibits, is going to offer the sights, sounds and even the smell of everything the new world of mobility has to offer,” he said.
