The charged action that is the first round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament took off on Friday, and it was not without the drama and chaos that university basketball fans crave. A number 2 number just dropped to number 15 for the ninth time in tour history, a number 3 got a good scare and there were numerous matches needed overtime to determine the outcome.
By far the most important match was Oral Roberts, no. 15, which raised the second-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes in overtime. ORU became the first number 15 seed since 2016 to knock a number 2 seed out of the innings with its 75-72 victory. But there were a few other notable developments that did not go unnoticed, including the 12-seed Oregon State, the Tennessee No. 5 seed, and the Arkansas No. 3 seed that could get everything from Colgate before beating the Raiders. let express.
Saturday is another marathon day on the deck with 16 games on the way. The action tips just after noon ET include number 1 seeds Gonzaga and Michigan, as well as number 2 seeds Alabama and Iowa.
