Mazda won the shiny “premium” title and the CX-3It looks like 0 has positioned both the engine and the price of the model. The basic CX-30 Turbo starts at $ 29,900. Oddly enough, this price is $ 50 cheaper than the Premium finish with the non-turbo engine and four-wheel drive. (The
CX-30 with the non-turbocharged engine starts at $ 28,550.)

There are three trim levels for the CX-30 Turbo: the above $ 29,900 base model; the Premium finish for $ 32,300 and Premium Plus for $ 33,900.

The differences in prices between the finishes are so subtle that you almost start to wonder what you are paying more for. But of course it only comes down to packages and features. The difference between the basic Turbo model and the Premium finish is, for example, leather seats, adjustable HID headlights, a head screen and a navigation system. A fully charged CX-30 Turbo costs $ 35,000.

Apart from the price and turbo engine, the premium look and feel that Mazda goes for comes in other areas. The inside, for example, is a very good place to be, with soft touch on most surfaces and contrasting stitching. These premium aspirations can be seen in who Mazda thinks its competitors are. With its turbo engine and AWD, Mazda follows behind the Audi Q3 S Line Premium, Lexus UX 250 F Sport and Subaru Crosstrek Limited.

Those of us who consider it another small Japanese crossroads know that its real competitors are cars like the Honda HR-V and Hyundai Venue. Only then will the CX-30 get more premium. But if you’re looking for power and a little capacity in a long hatch, and you have $ 35,000 per hole in your pocket, the CX-30 might just be the right thing for you.
