2021 ACC Tournament: Syracuse will face North Carolina for the 3rd time

Syracuse, NY – The Syracuse Orange will face a well-known opponent next week at the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, NC.

Syracuse (15-8 overall, 9-7 ACC) finished No. 8 in the ACC Tournament and will tackle the 9th-ranked North Carolina state in the second round of the tournament on Wednesday.

Syracuse and North Carolina State (13-9, 9-8) have played twice this season with the Orange taking both games. Syracuse won 76-73 at the Carrier Dome on 31 January and then took the second match 77-68 at Raleigh on 9 February.

However, the Wolfpack team may be the hottest team in the conference going to the ACC tournament. North Carolina State has won its last five games.

The Syracuse North Carolina State winner will advance to Thursday’s quarterfinals to play the number one seeded Virginia.

The US-NC State match starts at noon and is broadcast on the ACC network.

The rest of the ACC tournament looks like this:

The state of Virginia and Florida achieved a double discount in the quarterfinals on Thursday, along with Virginia Tech and No. 3 and Georgia Tech, No. 4.

Louisville had a chance to be the No. 4 seed, but moved to No. 7 with the loss to Virginia. Clemson rose to No. 5 and North Carolina ranked No. 6.

With his defeat to North Carolina on Saturday, Duke dropped to the 10th seed. The Blue Devils must play a first round game against Boston College, number 15. The winner will play for Louisville.
