The first patch in three years for the Star Wars Battlefront 2 in 2005 was pulled after it broke the game.
A surprising hotfix update was released on February 9 to Pandemic Studios’ beloved multiplayer shooter that addressed a number of issues with graphics resolution and controller support in the game.
Although the update was initially positively achieved – an update for a 15-year-old game is still an excellent support – it did not take long before players noticed that it broke the game in several important areas.
Eurogamer Next-Gen News Cast – Will PlayStation Studios release more games on Xbox?
Players have reported issues with issues, issues related to the issue, solutions, issues with the object and text size of the user interface, and worst of all, mods popular in the community were no longer useful.
A representative of GOG told Eurogamer that its update to Lucasfilm Games (this is the new brand name for the renewed video game from Lucasfilm) was given to Eurogamer, and it was removed from its platform “after user feedback and consultation of it with our partner “.
And now a new update on Steam reveals a similar move on Valve’s platform: “Return to previous version.”
It’s a shame the patch didn’t work out for Star Wars Battlefront 2 players, but assuming Lucasfilm Games can sort it out, it indicates continued support for the veteran shooter.
