2 Mega Millions tickets worth $ 1 million sold in NJ as jackpot climbs to $ 970 million

Two $ 1 million Mega Millions tickets were purchased in New Jersey for Tuesday’s draw, but no one nationwide hit the jackpot, raising the highest prize for Friday to $ 970 million.

The New Jersey tickets were one of the 11 second-prize tickets purchased nationally, each matching five numbers, but not the Mega Ball. Lottery officials in New Jersey will announce later Wednesday the retailers who sold the lucky tickets.

Did anyone win the Mega Millions jackpot last night? Not on Tuesday (1/19/2021). The jackpot for Friday’s Mega Millions draws is $ 970 million.

Friday’s jackpot may be the third largest in US lottery history, offering a cash option of at least $ 716.3 million.

Other $ 1 million tickets were sold in Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, Pennsylvania and Washington State. A ticket in California is valued at $ 1,401,723. Lotto prices in California vary depending on ticket sales and the number of winners. This differs from the fixed second prizes offered in other participating states.

In addition, two other Florida tickets are worth $ 2 million each, as they were purchased with the Megaplier option for an additional $ 1.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 10, 19, 26, 28 and 50. The Mega Ball was drawn 16 with a Megaplier of 2X.

Thirty-six drawings have been held since Adrian Tongson of Racine, Wisconsin, won the $ 120 million jackpot on September 15th. He chose the cash option and won $ 95.4 million before tax.

Mega Millions tickets cost $ 2 each and in New Jersey must be purchased on the night of the drawing at 10:45 p.m. The chance that a ticket can hit the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball is 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12 607 306 chance of winning the second prize of at least $ 1 million by five numbers to pass.

The game is played in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands.
