2 attempted killings kill after being chased in Muskogee

Two suspects were killed after Muskogee police chased them.

Authorities said they were responding to an attempted car hijacking on the 2200 block of North 24th Street West around 3pm on Sunday. The hood was unsuccessful.

After the initial car hijacking, a truck was stolen in the same area as the original car hood. Muscovite officers spotted the truck and chased the vehicle.

Officers searched the vehicle and suspects near the intersection of North 24th Street West and U.S. Highway 62. The vehicle crashed and the suspects fled on foot on the 700 block of North 18th Street.

Police and suspects exchanged gunfire during the pursuit. One of the suspects was shot dead while the second suspect escaped in a wooded area.

According to Muskogee police, when officers approached the second suspect, the department said the unknown suspect shot himself dead.

The suspects have not been identified as Muskogee police are continuing their investigation.
