FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – Government Andy Beshear announced at its press conference on Monday that 1,455 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Kentucky. After removing duplicates, the 1,455 new cases bring Kentucky’s COVID-19 case to 258,517.
“Mondays are always lower. It’s probably lower than normal because of a combination of the long holiday weekend and the possible communication due to the bombing in Nashville,” Gov. Beshear said.
Monday’s positivity rate was 7.97%.
Government Beshear also reported eight new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Kentucky’s total death toll to 2,563.
As of Monday, 1,552 Kentuckies are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, of which 411 are in the ICU and 217 in a ventilator.
