1,430 new COVID-19 cases in Alabama; hospitalizations dip

Alabama has added just over 1,400 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday.

Figures from the Alabama Department of Public Health on Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. show that the state has had 424,028 COVID-19 cases since March, an increase of 1,430 from the previous day. The state added 1 deaths to bring the total to 6,121.

At 2,716, hospitalizations continued to decline slowly. The state peaked at 3,077 at the beginning of January.
