After 139 years in Franklin St. 807 in San Francisco, a two-story Victorian home has a new address.
The green house with large windows and a brown front door was loaded on giant dolls and moved to a place six blocks away on Sunday.
Spectators lined the sidewalks to take photos as the structure rolled at a top speed of 1km / h to 635 Fulton St.
The house’s journey has been in the planning stage for years, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
Veteran home economist Phil Joy told the newspaper he must obtain permits from more than 15 city agencies.
Joy said this move is partly tricky because the first part of the trip is downhill.
“It’s always hard for a house,” he said.
Along the route, parking meters were torn up, the limbs of the tree cut off and traffic signs moved.
The owner of the six-bedroom home, San Francisco realtor Tim Brown, will pay about $ 400,000 in fees and relocation costs, the Chronicle said.
