12 CVS pharmacies in CT to release coronavirus vaccine

CONNECTICUT – CVS will soon begin administering COVID-19 vaccines to eligible populations on Thursday, Feb. 11 at CVS Pharmacies in Connecticut. A total of 12 pharmacies will eventually give the vaccine, according to a press release from the company.

Appointments will already be available for booking on Monday, February 9, as stores receive the vaccine, according to a press release from CVS.

The limited rollout in the state, which is linked to the federal pharmacy partnership program, will deliver approximately 6,800 doses.

Not all 12 pharmacy locations have been identified by the company. But CVS did list nine communities that will participate:

  • Avon
  • Bristol
  • Coventry
  • Glastonbury
  • Guilford
  • Hamden
  • Middletown
  • Noord-Haven
  • Uncasville

As more offers become available, the company will expand to more locations and offer additional appointments.

Vaccinations at participating CVS pharmacy locations in Connecticut will be available to individuals who meet state criteria, which will be confirmed in advance by the state.

Patients must pre-register at CVS.com or via the CVS Pharmacy app, and people without online access can contact CVS Customer Service: 800-746-7287.


The availability of COVID-19 vaccines in Connecticut is part of an initial deployment in 11 states and includes approximately 335 CVS pharmacy locations in California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.

Vaccinations will eventually be available at CVS pharmacies across the country, depending on the availability of products, with the ability to deliver 20 – 25 million shots per month.

In addition to making COVID-19 vaccines available in local pharmacies, CVS Health says it is still making progress in vaccinating residents and staff at more than 570 long-term care facilities in Connecticut.

As is clear from the regularly updated data made available by CVS Health to the public, the first doses at all facilities in the state that CVS Health has chosen to deliver COVID-19 vaccinations will be completed by mid-February, with the second doses well underway, according to the release.
