1,062 active COVID-19 cases in Brazos County, 63 new cases reported today

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Brazos County Health District reported 63 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Brazos County. Currently, there are 1,062 active cases.

No new deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. There were 200 total deaths in Brazos County related to COVID-19.

15,408 patients are classified as recovering, meaning they were fever-free for 72 hours without antipyretic medication, and that was ten days after the onset of symptoms.

51 percent of the newly confirmed cases come from the 18-24 age group.

There have been 3,490 probable cases in Brazos County since June 18, 2020. A probable case of COVID-19 is determined by a positive antigen test. Confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district conducts case investigations on all confirmed and probable cases.

There are currently 242 active probable cases and there were 3,196 probable cases recovered.

The total number of confirmed positive cases in the province since the start of testing is 16,670. 174,439 tests were performed.

Brazos County’s total occupancy in the hospital bed is 82 percent and the total occupancy on the ICU is 113 percent.

There are currently 30 residents of Brazos County admitted to the hospital for COVID-19.

State Trauma Service Area N

Most of the Brazos Valley falls under areas for trauma services in State N (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington counties). Trauma Service Area N currently reports 632 hospital beds with 105 beds available. According to the latest state data, the region has 4 available ICU beds and 71 available fans. The state’s latest update includes 65 COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital.

Texas A&M University

The Texas A&M COVID-19 Dashboard reported 59 new cases and 549 active cases on February 1.

Currently, the university has reported 1,946 positive cases since the week of January 9, 2021. 8.3 percent of the tests came back positive.

The last update of the dashboard was provided on 10 February 2021.

Statewide, Texas, has an estimated 272,649 active business and 2,220,233 recoveries. A total of 2,553,127 total cases and 21,852,664 total tests (both viral and antibody) were reported.

To date, 40,095 Texans have died from COVID-19.

Currently, 2,861,794 Texans have been vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 1,103,007 Texans have been completely vaccinated. 4597 600 doses are shipped across Texas.

254 of 254 counties in the state of Texas are currently reporting cases. Harris County leads the state in total cases with 333,279 reported cases.
