10,000 COVID-19 vaccine appointments will open in the Alamodome on Monday night, officials say

SAN ANTONIO The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District has announced that 10,000 COVID-19 vaccine appointments will open Monday night.

Health officials made the announcement on Sunday, saying 10,000 first-dose Pfizer vaccine appointments would be available from 18:00 Monday on the Metro Health COVID-19 registration website.

Residents without internet access can dial 311 and select option 8 for assistance with registration.

People in the Phase 1A and Phase 1B categories are currently eligible for the vaccine, as well as teachers and school and childcare staff.

Phase 1A includes leading health care workers and residents at long-term care facilities, and Phase 1B includes people over 65 or someone 16 years and older with a chronic medical condition who are elevated by COVID-19 for serious illnesses. People who work in preschool, primary and secondary schools, as well as Head Start and Early Head Start programs (including teachers, staff and bus drivers) and those who work as or for licensed childminders, including center-based providers and family care also come eligible from 3 March.
