10 Most Popular Diet Books According to Today’s Top Seller List

Oh, January, the time of year when the best books of diet books are filled, as many of us decide to eat better to lose weight. But this year we want to shake off not only the holiday pounds, but also our pandemic pounds. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, many Americans have called ‘Quarantine 15’.

On Monday, US News & World Report released its annual ranking of best overall diets and the Mediterranean Diet is at the top of the list for the fourth year in a row. But according to the list of top sellers of USA TODAY, the Mediterranean diet that leads people to eat a lot of plants and foods with a bad cholesterol is not even the Top 10.

So what diet books do Americans turn to? We looked back at the 10 most popular weight loss and diet books of the past decade, according to the USA TODAY’s bestseller list:

1. “The Whole30: The 30-Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom“” by Melissa Hartwig, Dallas Hartwig. Calories are not counted or food is weighed. Instead, dietitians are given a limited, predominantly protein-filled diet where food is reintroduced over time.

2. The 17 Day Diet: A Doctor’s Plan Designed for Quick Results“by Mike Moreno. Another diet you eat is limited by eliminating sugar, grains, fruits and dairy to speed up one’s metabolism.

3. “10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse: Lose Up to 15 Pounds in Ten Days !,“by JJ Smith. The diet is designed to start weight loss” by green smoothies made from super nutrients found in leafy vegetables and fruits.

4. “Wheat belly: lose the wheat, lose the weight and find your way back to health,“by William Davis. Davis suggests that we can prevent fat storage, bulges and health problems by eliminating wheat from our diet.

5. “Eat to Live: The Amazing Nutrient-Rich Program for Fast and Sustainable Weight Loss, Revised Edition, “by Joel Fuhrman. The diet claims that a high ratio of nutrients to calories in the food you eat can cause you to lose weight, because the more nutritious food you eat, the less you crave fats, sweets and foods with a high calorie.

6. “The Complete Ketogenic Diet for Beginners: Your Essential Guide to Living the Keto Lifestyle,“by Amy Ramos. The ketogenic diet is the latest diet that has made a big splash. The book explains what a ketogenic diet is (hint: low carb, high fat) and provides a meal plan with recipes.

7. “The plant paradox: the hidden dangers in ‘healthy’ foods that cause disease and weight gain,“According to Steven R. Gundry. According to Gundry, it is not just gluten that is the enemy, but all varieties of vegetable proteins, called lectins, that are the real culprits. And it is found not only in grains, but also in various gluten-free food.

8. “The 20/20 Diet: Turning Your Weight Loss Vision Into Reality,” by Phil McGraw. The psychological and television personality identifies several reasons why many diets fail while offering several solutions, including that dieters start eating 20 key foods.

9. “The Dukan Diet: 2 steps to lose weight, 2 steps to keep it off forever, ”By Pierre Dukan. The four-phase diet rejects calories and weighs food, while fans are encouraged to eat unlimited amounts of permissible foods such as lean proteins, eggs and selected vegetables.

10. “The Body of 4 Hours: An Unusual Guide to Rapid Fat Loss, Incredible Sex and Becoming Superhuman,“by Timothy Ferriss. Although it promises more than just weight loss in its title, this diet book contains simple meals, a restricted diet and a weekly cheat day.
