1 of 2 people wanted for officers shot near Spring arrested

LENTE, Texas One of the two people is wanted on Wednesday after an officer-involved shooting was arrested near Spring.

The search began at about 1:40 p.m., near Interstate 45 and Rayford Road.

Sgt. Erik Burse, of the Texas Department of Public Safety, said a soldier stuffed a white Chevrolet pickup truck with 28-year-old Tyler Goodson and 29-year-old Rebecca Orange inside. He said both men refused to identify themselves to the soldier, and the soldier asked a deputy sheriff’s office in Montgomery County to come to the scene and help identify them.

According to Burse, Goodson jumped back into the truck and started driving away while Orange fled on foot. He said Goodson was trying to drive the deputy while authorities fired shots at the vehicle.

The pickup was later found abandoned, Burse said.

Orange was later found and arrested, officials said. Several law enforcement agencies are still looking for Goodson.
