1 new COVID-19-related death in Brazos County, 102 new cases reported

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Brazos County Health District reported 102 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Brazos County. Currently there are 1,523 active cases.

One new death has been reported in the last 24 hours. There were 177 deaths in Brazos County related to COVID-19.

13,908 patients are classified as recovering, meaning they were fever-free for 72 hours without antipyretic medication, and that was ten days after the onset of symptoms.

58% percent of the newly confirmed cases come from the 18-24 age group.

There have been 3,196 likely cases in Brazos County since June 18, 2020. A probable case of COVID-19 is determined by a positive antigen test. Confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district conducts case investigations on all confirmed and probable cases.

There are currently 425 active probable cases and there were 2,771 probable cases recovered.

The total number of confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the testing is 15,608. 160 245 tests were performed.

Brazos County’s total occupancy in the hospital bed is 87 percent and the total occupancy on the ICU is 129 percent.

Currently, there are 40 residents of Brazos County admitted to the hospital for COVID-19.

Most of the Brazos Valley falls under areas for trauma services in State N (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington counties). Trauma Service Area N currently reports 650 crew members with 53 beds available. According to the latest state data, the region has 0 available ICU beds and 53 available fans. The latest state update confirmed 88 COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital by laboratory.

Texas A&M University

The Texas A&M COVID-19 Dashboard reported 70 new business and 495 active business on January 27th.

Currently, the university reported 5,901 positive cases, 7.2 percent of the tests came back positive.

The last update of the dashboard was provided on 30 January 2021.
