INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man was killed and three other people were shot at a hospital outside a nightclub on the north-east side of the city after New Year’s Eve, police said.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to a person shot shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday in Epic Ultra Lounge, 8215 Center Run Road. It’s on East 82nd Street between I-69 and I-465, and near Castleton Square.
The man died at the scene, an IMPD spokesman told News 8. Three other people were driven by private vehicle to a nearby hospital, where two were found in critical condition and moved to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in downtown Indianapolis.
The IMPD spokesman said the shooting happened at the entrance to the nightclub or in the parking lot. About an hour before midnight, investigators spotted several casings of shells around the nightclubs.
After the shots were fired, many people fled the area, the spokesman said. However, he asked that everyone who has information should call IMPD.
Police did not immediately know what led to the shooting.
No information about a suspect was immediately available.
