Yo-Yo Ma plays cello for clinic after receiving covide vaccine

Cello Virtuoso Yo-Yo Ma ‘Wanted to give something back’ after receiving his second dose of Covid-19 vaccine at a clinic in Pittsfield, Ma. Therefore, he needed the period of 15 minutes to examine a free concert for allergic reactions.

Mom is a part-time resident of the city of Western Massachusetts and received her vaccine doses at Berkshire Community College. The Berkshire Eagle reported that he ” took a seat next to the wall of the observation deck, masked and socially distant from the others’, before starting to play for an appreciative audience, grateful for both the life-saving vaccinations and the beautiful music that filled the room has.

The college shared several photos and videos of Mom’s performance on their social media accounts and wrote: “Today at the #MyBCC Vaccination Clinic, the people who waited 15 minutes in observation were praised for the musical talents of the only Yo- Yo Ma. ”

Reports from the world-famous cellist quickly went viral, and Mom’s name became nationally popular on Twitter on Saturday night.

It was far from Mom’s first time using his music to encourage others during the pandemic. He and pianist Emanuel Ax last fall hosted a series of pop-up concerts from the back of a pickup truck for first responders and emergency workers, and Mom tweeted videos of himself playing throughout the pandemic with the hashtag #SongsOfComfort.

The first #SongsOfComfort message was, in which the Eagle exactly one year ago Saturday called a poetic bit of circumstances.
