Millions of Texans were left without power on Wednesday morning, although the temperature in half of the state climbed to freezing point, a possible sign that the state’s power network could make significant progress in restoring service. The pockets of Texas entered their third straight day of widespread power outages amid a long winter storm as electricity services and the power grid scrambled to repair the service.
The network operators and power companies pleaded for patience when trying to restore normal service. “We know it’s hard. We continue to work as quickly and safely as possible to recover power, ‘the Texas network operator tweeted Wednesday morning. “We hope to reduce the interruptions during the day.”
The emergency situation began in the early hours of Monday morning when several power stations went on strike in quick succession. The freeze continued Wednesday in the northern part of the state, making it difficult for officials to restore power in the state.

An unusual Arctic explosion spread across Texas on Monday and Tuesday from the tip of the Panhandle to the Rio Grande Valley. Residents of large parts of the state experienced two straight days of single-digit temperatures.
