The state reported two deaths Sunday – one woman in her 80s from Burleigh County and one man in his 90s from Ward County.
Hospitalizations dropped in December. The state admitted 319 to the hospital at the beginning of the month. Today, 106 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in North Dakota, and 14.06% of beds are available in the state.
The provinces of Cass and Burleigh still report the highest number of cases in the state. Cass County added 38 cases, while Burleigh County, which includes Bismarck, reported 18 new cases.
The neighboring provinces of Morton and Stark now have 103 and 73 active cases respectively. Grand Forks County documented 126 cases, Ward County reported 125 and Williston’s Williams County recorded 102 total cases.
Every province except Billings and Sheridan currently has active businesses.
Ward and Burleigh counties have the most deaths, with 170 deaths to COVID-19. Cass County is back with 164 deaths and Morton County with 86.
Slope, Golden Valley and Billings provinces had no COVID-19 deaths.
Barnes, Bowman, Burke, Dickey, LaMoure, Logan, McKenzie, Morton, Ramsey, Ransom, Richland, Rolette, Sioux, Stark, Stutsman, Towner, Traill, and Williams each added five or fewer new cases.
A total of 1,924 tests were conducted and 88,177 North Dakotans recovered from COVID-19.
