The incumbent US president has been named the most admired man of the voting star in 60 out of 74 years, including eight years of Obama’s presidency and every year of George W. Bush’s presidency, except for 2008. Trump was second in Obama and 2017 and 2018.
The 2020 rankings are the 10th time that Trump is in the top 10. .
Among Republican respondents, 48 percent of respondents cite Trump as their most admired husband. No other public figure, according to Gallup, received more than 2 percent Republican support. Among independents, both Obama and Trump received 11 percent support. Fauci was the choice of 5 percent of Democrats, but only 1 percent of Republicans.
The record holder for the top 10 of the survey is the late Rev. Billy Graham, who topped the list 61 times before his death in 2018. Former President Carter, who has appeared on the list 29 times, is the liveliest person.
Twenty-one percent of respondents gave no answer, while 11 percent cited a friend or family member as the most admired.
Pollsters surveyed 1,018 adults from December 1 to 17. The poll has an error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
