Texas mother calls 911 from police station to admit she killed 2 daughters

IRVING, Texas – A woman who called 911 from the foyer of a Dallas suburban police department and said she killed her two young daughters is charged with two counts of mastermind, police said Tuesday.

Madison McDonald, 30, was arrested and charged in the murder of her two daughters, Archer Hammond (6) and Lillian Mae McDonald (1), Irving police said.

Madison McDonald walked into the Irving police station around 10 p.m. Monday and used the phone in the lobby to call 911.

According to police, officers went to her apartment and found both girls dead.

Police spokesman Robert Reeves said McDonald’s believed she killed the girls by suffocating, but the medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.

Officials are investigating what led to McDonald’s killing her children.

“We may never know the reason, because there will be no definition or reason that justifies the murder of two small children,” Reeves said.

McDonald was detained in Irving’s prison without a warrant. Prison records do not contain a lawyer for McDonald who can comment on the allegations.

Reeves said police had previously been in the McDonald’s apartment, but that he could not provide details due to the nature of the calls “and the privacy required by them.”
