Summary: Nuggets fall second in a row and fall 116-107 against Steph Curry and Golden State

It was Steph Curry night Monday night at Chase Center as the Golden State Superstar scored 53 points en route to becoming the leading Warriors scorer to overtake Wilt Chamberlain. Curry’s big night led the Warriors to a 116-107 victory over the Nuggets, who really lost control of the game in the second half.

Denver dominated the game for most of the first half and even led 61-56 until halftime, but the Warriors outscored the Nuggets 43-22 in the fourth quarter to put the game completely out of reach. The Nuggets tried to come back in the fourth quarter, but their deficit was just too much to overcome when they dropped their second consecutive game.

With the loss, Denver’s record of the season moves to 34-20, which is still good for fourth place in the Western Conference. The Nuggets have won eight of their last ten games and 17 of their last 22, so there is no need to react to those two losses.

The Nuggets were able to welcome Jamal Murray back into the series on Monday night after missing the last three games due to a sore right knee. Murray did not have the best game, but it was nice to see him on the floor again when he threw 17 points on 5-of-15 shooting from the field, 1-out-5 from outside the three-point line ( will have a story about his injury in a few minutes).

Some other stats are from Nikola Jokic, who still had an impressive line of 27 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. Michael Porter Jr. also scored a solid evening with 24 points on 11-of-21 shots off the field to go along with nine rebounds.

Denver will be back in action at Ball Arena on Wednesday night when they welcome the Miami Heat into the city.
