The Washington State Department of Health says it now receives 100,000 vaccine doses from the federal government each week, but that is still not close to the 300,000-dose-per-week target needed to achieve the state’s goal of 45 Vaccinate 000 people a day. Currently, the state of Washington vaccines about a third of the number per day.
The state says there are about 1.7 million people in Phase 1B, Tier 1, so it could take months to get through. However, the next phases open before the previous phase is completed.

“We are limited by the 100,000 doses per week,” said Michele Roberts, acting assistant secretary at the health department.
Roberts added that the limited offer means that appointments have to be canceled in some places as suppliers are waiting for more doses.
Approximately 500,000 total vaccine doses were administered nationwide. So far, most vaccines have been distributed at health clinics and hospitals.

Mass vaccination clinics are also established in each region. Four opened Monday in eastern and southern Washington. The following sites will include the provinces of Thurston, Kitsap and Whatcom.
“King, Pierce and Snohomish County all have their own mass vaccination sites,” Roberts said.
