STALKER 2 in-engine game teaser shows a wonderful and dynamic world

The wait for STALKER 2 has been a (very, very) long time, but GSC Game World has just dropped a new crumb to tide hungry fans. The new STALKER 2 preview is not a real game, but it was created using Unreal Engine 4 and is designed to give people an idea of what the game will actually look and feel like once we get a real game . Here’s how GSC describes the teaser …

[This gameplay teaser represents] how the game actually feels: rapid changes of scenery, ominous landscapes and the ever-present sense of an inevitable danger accompanied by a barely distinguishable guitar soundtrack.

But hey, enough preface, check out the latest STALKER 2 teaser below!

Age of Empires IV is in a fully playable state, focus is now on balance and Polish

Looks promising! I especially like how dynamic the world looks – the storm, the swaying trees, the flickering fire. Hopefully the last game feels just as lively. For those who have not kept up yet, STALKER 2 was originally announced in 2010, and many feared it was vaporware, before GSC Game World announced that the project would resume in 2018. Here is the official description of the game:

The award-winning PC franchise loved by millions of gamers makes a real debut on the next console with STALKER 2. Experience a unique blend of first-person shooter, captivating sim and horror. The exclusion zone of Chernobyl is a unique, dangerous and ever-changing environment. It promises a lot – the artifacts can be of incredible value to you if you dare to claim them. The price you may pay, on the other hand, is no less than your own life.

One of the largest open worlds to date, filled with radiation, mutants and abnormalities, is yours to explore. All the choices along the way not only define your own epic story, but influence the future itself. Be mindful of what you see, do and plan, for you will have to come through the Zone or be lost forever.

STALKER 2 is expected to launch on PC and Xbox Series X sometime in 2021.
