Sketchy rumors suggest that the second generation AirPods Pro may come in two sizes

A new, rumored rumor based on some images of the new hardware for the next generation AirPods Pro has appeared. The speculation about two sizes for AirPods Pro 2 comes from Mr white. He does not have a very reliable record, but has access to Apple hardware that has not been released yet and has predicted some things right in the past.

Rumors of second generation AirPods Pro hardware

Mr White shows here what AirPods Pro components are, and the cable length differs especially between the two components on the left, which may be for the second generation AirPods Pro. The two judges that are about the same size appear to be the same components as the existing AirPods Pro.

Mr White does not sound convinced himself, but gives the speculation that the new AirPods Pro may come in two sizes. It also contains an image showing the chip used as the W2.

Bloomberg shared a report in October stating that Apple “intends” to make the new AirPods Pro smaller by removing the stem and getting a more rounded shape and better fit. However, so far we have not heard two reports about them in two sizes.

AirPods Pro 2 capabilities

One possibility here is that Mr white has acquired prototype hardware that will not necessarily come into production. Bloomberg has warned that Apple may go for a ‘less ambitious’ design than he hopes on AirPods Pro 2 due to the difficulty of getting antennas, ANC, microphones, etc. Packed in a more compact form.

And since AirPods Pro already fits with multiple earbuds and an in-ear, it’s unclear how two sizes of next-generation AirPods Pro will be valuable. But there is always the chance outside that there is something to mr. White’s idea is.

Another possibility is that the hardware may be of different sizes for the redesigned AirPods 3 and the potentially smaller AirPods Pro 2.

What the W2 chip is called, AirPods Pro (AirPods and AirPods Max) uses the H1 chip, which is the successor to the W1 chip used in older AirPods. We have not yet seen a W2 chip, so it could be that Mr White predicts the next generation AirPods Pro stick with the H1 based on his remark “Still W2 Chips.”

AirPods Pro 2 in black?

Another interesting moment is Mr White’s answer to a question about AirPods Pro 2 being black. Again, this is probably just speculation, but definitely something that many are interested in. Mr. White did not elaborate on why he thinks black is not a good fit for AirPods.

It’s a good idea to take this speculation along with a grain of salt at Mr White’s. He definitely has a messy history. For example, he got hold of Apple’s 20W power adapter before launching it this year, but incorrectly predicted that it would supply it with the iPhone 12. Of course, we now know that Apple has stopped including a power adapter altogether and is selling the new 20W model separately.

Mr White and others also shared photos of an unissued braided lightning cable that some people say would come with the iPhone 12. which at least has not yet been launched.

Apple’s next generation AirPods and AirPods Pro are expected to launch in 2021. Keep up to date with everything we know about AirPods, with our guide here.
