Raptors 100, Knicks 83: Scenes of the three-point shoot regression from hell

The New York Knicks could not hit a basketball shot on Thursday night to save their lives, which is a pretty good summary of the year 2020, I suppose. To their credit, they stay inside the Toronto Raptors strike for most of the game, but it’s hard to win a game if you shoot 3-36 from outside the arc.

You read that right: 3-36. At one point, they missed 20 three-point attempts in a row. The Raptors may not be as good as in recent years, but they are very good enough to defeat that kind of shooting. They pulled away late when the Knicks gave up the rope.

Austin Rivers played his first game of the season and did some cool things off the bench, with a neat 7 points and 5 assists.

Julius Randle played decently as no one could shoot and dropped 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 inches. However, he left the game early after taking a shot to the thigh.

Get well soon, Julius. Otherwise it was a night – and a year – to forget. Benny will have the review tomorrow morning. Happy New Year.
