Rain throughout California is moving to the Midwest and will snow by Tuesday night

A storm moving ashore in central and southern California will turn into a snowstorm in the middle of the country by the middle of the week.

The system will only rain until Monday night and bring heavy snow to parts of California.

Late Monday through Tuesday, the storm pushed snow into the southwestern, central and northern plains.

Also Monday night, rain moves to the southern plains. By Tuesday night, the cutting edge of the system and snow was moving to the Great Lakes region.

Furthermore, on Tuesday to Tuesday evening, rain / freezing rain will develop over parts of the central plains and move to parts of the Central Mississippi Valley. The snow is 4 to 6 centimeters large and isolated 8 centimeters over parts of the Middle East.

The snow and icy rain will contribute to dangerous driving conditions.

The heaviest is expected as the storm passes the Great Basin and the central Rockies. The total snowfall on Tuesday evening will be between 12 and 24 centimeters.
