Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover star in a new Amazon Prime Video series based on the 2005 film Mr and Mrs Smith. In the film, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were some married assassins who were ordered to kill each other.
I’m trying to imagine what Waller-Bridge’s is. Fleabag character of this news would make and whether her Mrs. Smith the side of the camera the Fleabag was known for (please do). And! Glover made the announcement via a story on his Childish Gambino Instagram page, shared by Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios. She calls the couple a ‘dream team’ for the studio in a statement.
Glover and Waller-Bridge will deliver executive production Mr and Mrs Smith, Variety reported, and Francesca Sloane will serve as presenter for the series, which appears in 2022.
Waller-Bridge created and wrote for the hit series Kill Eva based on the novels of Luke Jennings, and is also a writer of the delayed James Bond film No time to die. Glover won praise for its FX series Atlanta, which he created and played with him (the latest season has also been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic).
Both stars have done other projects with Amazon Studios; it spreads Fleabag in the US, and Glover’s musical Guave Island was a production of Amazon Original.
