Phoebe Bridgers claims Marilyn Manson once told her he had a “rape room” in his house

Phoebe Bridgers expressed her own experience with Marilyn Manson in the wake of the musician accused of sexual assault.

Actor Evan Rachel Wood and four other women claimed Monday (Feb. 1) that Manson abused, cared for and manipulated them.

“He started caring for me as a teenager and abusing me horribly for years,” Wood wrote on Instagram. ‘I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I already live in fear of retaliation, slander or extortion. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him before he destroys more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer remain silent. ”

Manson denied the allegations in a statement to Instagram, writing: “My intimate relationships have always been completely one-sided with partners who think alike. No matter how – and why – others now choose to misrepresent the past, this is the truth. ”

Bridgers shared her own experience with Manson on Twitter earlier today (February 4), claiming the people around him were aware of his alleged behavior before the allegations were made public.

“I went to Marilyn Manson’s house when I was a teenager with some friends,” the singer-songwriter tweeted. “I was a big fan. He referred to a room in his house as the ‘r * pe room’, I thought it was just his awful sense of humor. I stopped being a fan. ‘

She added that she ‘stands'[s] with everyone who came forward ”.

Since Wood and the other women’s allegations were made public, Manson has been dropped by his label Loma Vista and his booking agent CAA. Loma Vista has announced that it will no longer be collaborating with the musician in a statement which reads: ‘In light of the disturbing allegations made by Evan Rachel Wood and other women who cite Marilyn Manson as their abuser, Loma Vista will stop its current album to further promote. [‘We Are Chaos’], effective immediately.

“Because of these developments, we also decided not to collaborate with Marilyn Manson on future projects.”

NME contacted Manson’s label and management company for comment on Bridgers’ allegations that the companies and his group were aware of his alleged behavior.

He was also deprived of his planned TV roles, with his appearance cut out American Gods and the Creepshow anthology.

Manson has also been convicted by his former collaborators Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor, and Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit – who played guitar for Manson for one year – since the news of the allegations became known.
