With the 2021 salary cap, you expect many veteran players to cut their clips to keep up with their current clubs.
Two such moves came down Tuesday morning.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Packers’ wide receiver Devin Funchess has taken out a savings of about $ 750,000 to stay in Green Bay, according to an informed source. Funchess has decided for the 2020 season to sign a one-year contract with the Packers.
Rapoport added that Bills Center Mitch Morse has reduced his salary by nearly $ 2 million to stay in Buffalo by source. Morse can earn a portion of the lost salary through incentives.
Funchess signed a $ 2.5 million one-year contract in Green Bay, which could rise to $ 3.75 million with performance incentives. After the COVID-19 season was ruled out, his contract lasted until 2021. If he takes a pay cut, he is heading in the direction of the new league year.

The salary cut keeps him in Green Bay, but he will still have to earn a role to make the final list.
On the other hand, Morse have started thirty games in Buffalo over the past two seasons, plus all four of the post-seasons. The contract for the next two seasons, with a cap of $ 10.34 million in 2021, was the 28-year-old candidate for the Bills, who is seeking the release of the cap.
