CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Health reported Sunday that the number of confirmed or probable infections from the new coronavirus has risen to 670,525, an increase of 5,857 since Saturday.
The number of Ohio residents died with the coronavirus by 33 and rose to 8,509.
The state reported 11,080 new cases and 20 deaths on Saturday, although those numbers were a combination of December 25 and December 26 statistics.
COVID-19 hospitalizations increased by 273 worldwide in the last 24 hours, which is lower than the 21-day average of 360 daily hospitalizations. Thirty COVID-19 patients have been transferred to the ICU in the past 24 hours, also down from the 21-day average of 39.
The number of cases on Sunday is much lower than the 21-day moving average, which currently comprises 9,310 cases.

According to Johns Hopkins, there are more than 80.5 million confirmed cases of coronavirus and more than 1.7 million deaths worldwide. In the US, there are approximately 19 million confirmed cases of coronavirus and more than 332,000 COVID-19 deaths.
