Netflix’s DOTA 2 anime gets a proper preview full of dragon fight

It’s only been a few days since Netflix announced that it’s working on an anime series based on DOTA 2DOTA: Dragon’s Blood – but by that time the streamer had already released a proper preview showing the series actually.

And while the original announcement earlier this week shows just a few seconds of footage, the new trailer is just that – a full-fledged preview of the series featuring characters such as Davion, the Dragon Knight, with whom the quest for the heart of the program, and Princess Mirana (DOTA 2 players will probably recognize both of these names as heroes that can be played in the popular online game.)

However, the release of a new trailer will soon make some sense, given how little time there will be between the announcement of the program and the release on March 25th.

As previously announced, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood will be produced by Studio MIR, the group behind Legend of Korra and Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender, with Ashley Edward Miller (co-author on X-Men: first class and Thor) serves as a showcase runner.

Miller also started teasing some of the cast on Twitter, revealing earlier this week that the series will feature a mix of popular actors for video games such as Yuri Lowenthal, Troy Baker, Alix Wilton Regan and Kari Wahlgren – fittingly, given the franchise’s cast – along with more traditional film and TV actors such as Lara Pulver (Sherlock), Tony Todd (Candy man), Anson Mount (Star Trek: Discovery), and Freya Tingley (One day.) More details on the cast and show should also come before it appears next month.
