Nairoby ‘Nairo’ Quezada shares his reaction recordings on Sephiroth’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate trailer

The story of Nairoby “Nairo” Quezada has evolved quite drastically over the past year from that of a banished Super Smash Bros. legend to that of one with a hopefully brighter future, but that does not mean that during his time away from the stream off.

Smash Ultimate’s former number four ranking player recorded a hype reaction video for Sephiroth’s surprise DLC unveiling in December 2020, and now he was finally able to release it with a strong reception coming from the community.

Sephiroth’s announcement took place during The Game Awards last year with Nairo watching the event with some friends on Discord.

He could immediately guess that the fighter would be a Square Enix representative with the inclusion of Dragon Quest Hero in the trailer, but that did not hit him until ‘One Winged Angel’ kicked in that the hype would start to flow as a big fan of Final Fantasy.

The reaction of the community to the video led to Nairo tending to Twitter again, with many other players showing support for watching the pro content, while others continued to remove its ban by Twitch.

In July 2020, Nairo faced allegations of sexual misconduct that led to the 24-year-old being banned from tournaments, community functions and streaming.

He searched legally behind the scenes, and this, along with the release of further information, led organizers of several events to lift his ban on competition.

The pro plans to stream on YouTube again this week, as his Twitch account is still banned, which could also cause problems joining tournaments played on the platform.
