Miami Beach sets up drives as crowds, chaos overwhelms spring paradise

Miami Beach is hitting the spring break as unprecedented crowds overwhelm the sunny beach paradise.

According to reports, the city set an evening clock at 20:00 and declared a state of emergency in its busy entertainment district.

“I think the volume is clearly more than in previous years, and I think it’s partly due to the fact that there are very few places open elsewhere in the country,” Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber told Reuters.

According to Miami Beach officials, the curfew is valid for at least 72 hours. Highways in and out of the city will also turn off overnight.

The crowds are so bad: ‘You could not see sidewalks and you could not see grass,’ said interim city manager Raul Aguila.

Aguila declared a state of emergency on Saturday. According to the Miami Herald, he wants the emergency measures until April 12.
