Los Angeles Rams QB injured Jared Goff’s thumb may not play in Week 17

Los Angeles Rams flyhalf Jared Goff has expressed uncertainty over whether he could play in a final season after suffering a thumb injury in a 20-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Rams fear that Goff’s thumb was broken and that he will continue testing in LA on Monday.

“I’m unsure,” Goff said when asked if he would be able to play against the Arizona Cardinals at home next Sunday. “We’ll see.”

John Wolford, an unknown free agent in 2018 from Wake Forest, is the Rams rugby quarterback. Wolford has never appeared in an NFL game in the regular season.

Goff said his thumb did not bother him after he sustained the injury.

‘I beat it [a] ‘helmet hit there for some time in the third quarter and put him back in place and just finished the game,’ ‘Goff said.

The Rams (9-6) have lost two games for the first time this season, but can reach a playoff spot with a win over the Cardinals (8-7) or a victory over the Green Bay Packers over the Chicago Bears (8- 7)) in Week 17.
