Lance Reddick is a well-known actor, with major roles in The wire and John Wick, amongst other things. He is also the voice of Destinycommander Zavala, and apparently not above granting supporter requests to vote the memes they send him.
This is what he did yesterday when Destiny player xMechanizex sent him a meme drawn from Season of the Chosen’s opening scene, which went live earlier this week. In it, Cabal Empress Caiatl tells Reddick’s character Zavala to bend the knee to accept an alliance against their mutual enemies. Zavala refuses and they separate, kicking off the final round of strange bloodshed.
It made some players joke that Zavala actually had to go in and reminded the Empress how many times players had kicked the Cabal’s asses together in the past. Big bads have become a tough sell out in a game they farm ad nauseum for cool loot. And such a new Destiny meme was born and later immortalized thanks to Reddick’s very serious execution:
