‘Jackass’ alum Chris Pontius Buys upgraded Los Angeles House

Now that he’s well into his forties and with family on the brain, Chris Pontius has sold his little Hollywood Hills bachelor, exchanging it for a more spacious and relaxed property in the foothills of the San Fernando Valley. The Jackass star and his wife Mae paid $ 1.6 million for the half-acre Tarzana estate, which includes all the amenities one would expect at the home of a wealthy Valley family: a broad, well watered lawn and backyard pool, plus a large garage with space for three cars and extra driveway parking for a few more.

Built in 1959, the updated farmhouse-style home features approximately 3,300 square feet in its single-story skeleton. A stone path, located on a soft heel just above the street, leads to the alternative shingles and rock-edged structure’s front door; inside, glossy dark brown hardwood floors pass through to the formal dining and lounge areas, both of which offer French doors with direct access to different parts of the garden.

There is also a kitchen with a clear dating that looks like an early 90s time machine, but it offers plenty of counter space, an island and a breakfast nook. On the other hand, the unexpectedly massive family room can accommodate large gatherings and is nicely accentuated with contemporary upgrades such as built-in cupboards, a bar and stone fireplace.

Four of the five bedrooms have en-suite baths, and the master is chock-full of bonus features not limited to a vaulted ceiling, an enclosed shower with sofa seating and a walk-in shower, a built-in bath and a walk-in closet.

But the most important features of the house is the unusual symphony of flooring material. Almost every room has a different floor choice: there are beige tiles in the kitchen, bone-colored carpet in the pit, taupe carpet in one of the guest rooms, ash-gray carpet in the master bedroom, the dark brown hardwood in the living and dining room. rooms. The list places the decorative chaos positively, but says that the mix of materials is an ‘exciting floor sensation’.

At the back, the pool and spa are shaded by a mature elm tree, which provides a welcome relief from the incessant heat in San Fernando Valley. In a corner of the premises is a half-court basketball court, and just outside the back porch is a porch for ceiling reception. At the very back of the property, wooden stairs climb up the hill on the terrace.

Marc Tahler and Ken Zietz of Rodeo Realty held the listing; TJ Paradise of Sotheby’s International Realty dropped Pontius again.
