IDP lawmakers seek to remove Omar from committees while Dems pushes to oust Taylor Greene from panel

House of Representatives lawmakers want to oust Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota from her committee reshuffle this week, while Democrats are campaigning for similar action against Georgia’s Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Fox News has learned.

The House will this week consider a measure in which Taylor Greene, a controversial first-time lawmaker known for her support of the QAnon conspiracy theory, is considering out of her allocation to the Education and Labor Committee.

OMAR CALLS OFFERED TO ‘RETURNED CASH PAYMENTS’

A proposed IDP-backed amendment to the measure calls for Omar, who is regularly identified as a member of the ‘group’ of progressive Democrats, to be removed from her committee mandates’ in light of the behavior she has shown ‘,’ Chad Pergram, correspondent of the Fox News Congress reported. In the amendment, Republicans allege that Omar made anti-Semitic comments that are grounds for dismissal.

Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Jody Hice (R-GA), Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Ronny Jackson (R-TX) sponsored the proposed amendment.

Omar’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In February 2019, Omar caused a stir after she wrote: ‘It’s all about the baby of Benjamins’ in response to a tweet referring to House Minister of Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s’ action against to take her on her criticism of Israel. Later, Omar suggested that the US-Israeli Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC, pay politicians to adopt a favorable attitude toward Israel.

Omar’s remarks drew dual criticism in Congress. She later apologized and thanked colleagues for ‘education’ [her] about the painful history of anti-Semitic tropics. ‘

The Republican’s attempt to remove Omar from the committee took shape when lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle scrutinized Taylor Greene over her past and recent actions. A separate home effort wants Taylor Greene completely removed from office.

Aside from her support for QAnon, the Republican of Georgia supports former President Donald Trump’s unproven allegations that the presidential election was fraudulent. In earlier activities on social media, she liked ‘from’ messages calling for violence against prominent Democrats, claiming that deadly mass shootings had taken place.
