“His strong sense of faith is being tested as he engages in grueling physical therapy and learns how to meet the challenges of paraplegia,” the team said.
“Doctors advised him that his path to recovery would be long and difficult, perhaps an even more difficult physical challenge than playing professional basketball.”
According to the statement, he is still in a good mood and plans to use the accident ‘as a platform to make the public more aware of the importance of bicycle safety’, the statement said.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said he was “saddened” by the crash.
