An image that looks like a coronavirus vaccine labeled “Paporizer” from Pfizer has hit online. This is a joke: the pharmaceutical company Pfizer has not released a vape vaccine against COVID-19.
The photo shared shows a cartridge with a cartridge used in an electronic cigarette and inhaled as a vapor (here). It bears the Pfizer-style trademark and is described as a “single dose” vaccine cartridge. There are signs that the label was printed as a joke; the box describes Pfizer as ‘manufacturers of’ the boner pill ”.
For example, it was already humorously shared on December 19th here and here .
Although most parts of the image seem to recognize that the product is not real, it did cause confusion for some people. A series of social media users shared the image with captions such as “Could it be fake?”, “Can you escape the RESET?” and “Why is the Pfizer vaccine manufactured in China?”, with the latter remark in response to the text on the fake package entitled “MADE IN CHINA”. The actual vaccine is made using Pfizer and BioNTech’s joint manufacturing network in Germany, Belgium and the United States (here).
Reuters contacted Pfizer who confirmed by email that the evaporation pattern was false. The right Pfizer vaccine is injected into the upper arm and given in two doses 21 days apart (here).
VERDICT
Untrue. Pfizer did not create a COVID-19 vaccine cartridge designed to be ‘shaped’ into an electronic cigarette. The product in the photo was fake and probably made as a joke.
