Eagles mocks draft collection 5.0: there’s a new favorite

We’re a little over a month away from the NFL draft, and there’s a new favorite for the Eagles in mocking drafts.

The Eagles have a total of 11 picks, but the most valuable is the overall number 6.

Here are some recent ridiculous concepts:

PFF, Mike Renner

Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

What they said: Positional value must be condemned; you will soon find no other Pitts in this draft or any other draft. The Eagles could later find a receiver or even use Pitts as such. The tight end in Florida last year finished third among all college soccer players in yards per route against human coverage.

My opinion: there were four backs in the first five picks off the board, which pushed some very good players in the Eagles series. The only non-QB to be among the top five was OT Penei Sewell. So in the mockery of Renner, he lets the Eagles pass Ja’Marr Chase and DeVonta Smith to take on Pitts. I think Pitts is a very good player and he will be a good choice at no. 6 … but I will not pass Chase.

NFL.com, Lance Zierlein

Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

What they said: the rare combination of length, speed and talent that the ball wins makes Pitts a sad nightmare – and a wonderful addition for Jalen Hurts.

My opinion: While most people had the Eagles take on Justin Jefferson last year, Zierlein nailed the Jalen Reagor pick. So I will pay more attention here. In this draft, Chase is at 3. at the Dolphins board. If that happened then it would probably make the Eagles’ decision easier.

TheDraft Network, Joe Marino

Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

What they said: If Jalen Hurts is going to get a chance to succeed in the quarterfinals for the Eagles, Philadelphia will need more weapons in the passing game. Pitts may be referred to as a tight end, but he is able to win from a variety of setups on the offensive formation and offer a mismatch between height and weight / speed. His ball skills are exceptional and his fluency as a trail runner does not make sense for a man with his frame. He is rare.

Take me: this is another spot where the Eagles Chase pass by to take Pitts. Again, I would not go that far. But I understand that too and Pitts would be a good choice. He’s a sad nightmare and it seems pretty safe that his skills will translate to the NFL.

CBS Sports, Josh Edwards

Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

What they said: Zach Ertz is going to be traded at some point: it’s just time for both parties to move on. Philadelphia tried to upgrade their pass attack, and everyone’s mind immediately rushed to wide receiver. The Colts spent a modest 21% of the crabs in 12 people (1 running rugby, 2 tight end props) last season, but they did not have two artists like Dallas Goedert and Pitts. I think the Eagles can achieve a lot of success in 12 people with Miles Sanders in the backfield.

My opinion: Once again, the Eagles passed Chase for Pitts. If the Eagles had pitched Pitts, they would probably use 12 people per tonne by 2021. But it’s important to note that Goedert is entering a contract year, so his presence on the roster is not a reason for the Eagles to think about passing on Pitts. .

NFL.com, Bucky Brooks

Justin Fields, QB, State of Ohio

What they said: Are the Eagles really ready to hand over the keys to the franchise to Jalen Hurts? If not, GM Howie Roseman should not turn down the chance to add a talented quarterback with a franchise potential to the team.

My opinion: do not get me wrong: I like the idea of rolling with Hurts in 2021. But I still think the Eagles owe it to themselves to really study this crop of quarterbacks. And if they think Fields (or whoever) is the player who could be their next franchise fullback, then I’ll understand he’s choosing him. You need to remember how much stock puts the Eagles in the QB position. And if they are not convinced that Hurts is the man and they are convinced that Fields (or whoever) is, it would make sense to set up another QB, even with as many holes as they need on their roster fill in.

CBS Sports, Ryan Wilson

Trade at 12: Patrick Surtain, CB, Alabama

What they said: The Eagles were mostly silent in free agencies, but they did land security Anthony Harris, albeit only on a one-year deal. Curtain may not look like Philly immediately, but other than Darius Slay, who was signed until 2025, no other CB has a contract after next season.

My opinion: in this scenario, the Eagles move down six spots and get the no. 43-choice to do so. That would give the Eagles 12 picks in draft and five in the first three rounds. Based on the draft value map, the difference is between 12 and 6,400 points, while number 43 is worth 4,470. So it seems to match. And earlier in the ridiculous season, we saw some ridiculous concepts put Surtain at the Eagles with the sixth pick. So it’s good to get him at number 12. And as Wilson noted, the Eagles have a clear need at CB. But they really struggled to set them up well. But would the Eagles really be willing to give up Pitts and the best receivers?

Sports News, Vinnie Iyer

DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama

What they said: The Eagles were quiet in their free throws to help Jalen Hurts, but they could hit a home game by reuniting him with one of his best Alabama targets around the no. 1 to be “X” and to have Jalen Reagor settle into more of the “Z” outside of deep threat mode. Smith becomes more than the no. 2 or no. 3 in this class due to concerns about his framework, but it’s hard to ignore his Heisman Trophy-worthy dominant production, especially not if it peaked during the College Football Playoff games. He could have the same big impact as Chase and former teammate Jaylen Waddle.

My opinion: if you’re wondering, Pitts will go against these cowboys at 10 p.m. Iyer also let Chase get off the board on 3. Instead of taking Pitts, Iyer let the Eagles take the super-productive Smith from Alabama. . Some are worried about Smith’s size (he is £ 170), but that has not stopped him from having a good university career that ended with a Heisman trophy.

Fox Sports, Rob Rang

Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU

What they said: The Eagles have more needs than receiver, but if they are going to fly with Jalen Hurts, they will have to surround him with weapons. A bully with the ball in his hands, Chase is an ideal addition to Jalen Reagor, last year’s top pick.

My opinion: I am a big Chase fan and it will go well with me. I would take him over to Pitts if both were available.

Kyle Crabbs, TheDraftNetwork

Penei Sewell, OT, Orgon

What they said: The Eagles will not wait long to hand in the card for whatever choice the Bengals make, as they appear to be the consensus top two players available in the classroom at this stage for much in the concept space. Penei Sewell could act in the left-wing attack in Philadelphia and help provide long-term stability to an offensive line that has so far been devastated by an injury. What does this choice mean for former first-round pick Andre Dillard? That’s hard to say. But what we do know is that a good player should not prevent you from drafting a good player – and we do not even know for sure if Dillard is still * good *. He started four games for the Eagles in 2019 and missed the entire 2020 with a biceps tear.

My opinion: we probably haven’t talked enough about Sewell yet. Sure, the Eagles still have Jordan Mailata and Dillard, but if Sewell is a future Pro Bowl suit, it would still make sense to take him at 6. And we all know how much the Eagles appreciate. And in this scenario, Pitts and Chase come up with the two choices before the Eagles’ choice. Perhaps the Eagles in this case would be willing to pick the No. 6 and pull back for a team that wants to take on Justin Fields. In this spot, three QBs are in front of 6 off the board, so there might be another team that wants to pull up. But speaking of value, Sewell puts it at number 6.
