SEATTLE – Veteran defensive tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison tweeted Sunday that it’s time to move on ‘from the Seattle Seahawks.
NFL Network reported that Harrison is being asked for release after learning he would be inactive for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. The report plans that Seahawks will release Harrison.
A Twitter user responded to the NFL Network tweet and wrote “do not leave,” with the Harrison label. He replied with his reasoning that he did not want to.
“Didn’t want to, but it’s time to do it,” Harrison tweeted. “I came here to help, and I did it and now it’s time to go on. I came back this year to play and that’s all I want. The team is back healthy and playing really well .. [It’s] my time to go out. Still all love and respect for the Falcons! “

The Seahawks pulled Harrison, 32, into their training camp on Oct. 7 after deciding to play in 2020. He only made his debut in Seattle on November 15 against the Rams. The 6-foot-5, 350-pound player had to work himself into football form again and then had to wait for an opening in Seattle’s defensive tackle rotation, which he got when Bryan Mone injured his ankle.
Harrison, an All-Pro in the first team in 2016, received nine tackles and a forced fumble in six games with Seattle. He averaged 23 defensive snaps per game, per Pro Football Reference, while playing behind leaders Jarran Reed and Poona Ford.
The Seahawks activated Mone outside the injured reserve on Saturday. Harrison wished Mone and several other teammates strength against the Rams on Twitter. The Seahawks would be NFC West champions with a win for the first time since 2016.
Harrison’s contract includes a base salary of $ 1.05 million, per ESPN’s roster management system. The amount calculated over six matches is approximately $ 370 588.
