COVID-19 outbreak at Bangor nursing home under investigation

The outbreak of COVID-19 at a rehabilitation and competent nursing home in Bangor is being investigated by the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Eastside Center for Health and Rehabilitation, which provides long-term and short-term care, is the latest environment for an outbreak. Maine’s nursing homes and relief facilities have seen some of the state’s worst outbreaks since the onset of the pandemic.

As of Saturday, the facility reported that 23 residents and 13 staff members tested positive for the virus. According to a family member of a resident who spoke to the Bangor Daily News about the condition of anonymity, the information was passed on to a family member to residents.
