Christmas bandit caught stealing from small business – NBC 7 San Diego

Serpentine Cider owner Sean Harris is asking for the community’s help identifying a Christmas bandit.

“You feel violated, every kind of emotion,” Harris said after sharing a safety video of a man stealing outdoor heaters and a canopy off the Serpentine Cider patio in Miramar Christmas Eve.

“Eventually, 2020 broke me. We went through everything that happened, and now this, the last week of it, ‘said Harris, who thought he was going through the worst of 2020, after the pandemic forced two shutdowns and only had to serve.

“Sometimes it’s scary,” said Harris’ friend Bree Steffen. Harris agrees, ‘It’s scary. It’s hard to see your bank account going down. ”

And now they got a hit again.

“All the heaters were stolen, the canopy was gone, some of the tables and chairs were broken and the lights were broken,” Harris explained.

Harris said the thief was spotted while unloading an extension cord and power tool with which he broke through the locks to secure items to the patio. Harris estimates a few thousand dollars in losses, but says the most difficult loss is the damaged furniture he built with his father, who lives in the north.

‘It’s just heartbreaking to see my dad and my hard work just literally push on. Having to rebuild it is going to be difficult. My dad is in his 70s. He can not come out during COVID and help me, so I’m going to do it myself. It’s just not going to have the same effect as building it with my dad. And more money than we do not have yet, ”Harris said. ‘I really hope someone recognizes him before he does it to someone else. If he could do it to us at Christmas, he would be able to do it to someone else. ”

If you recognize the man in the video, you will be asked to call the police.
