AMD on the shortage of CPUs and GPU chips: ‘this is very, very good’

AMD’s CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, was recently on Jim Cramer and his “Mad Money” segment Monday, just after the company introduced its next-generation Zen 3-based EPYC processors.

During the conversation, Su not only talked about the new third-generation EPYC processors, but also about the shortage of chips that is currently affecting everything. CPUs, and especially GPUs, are almost impossible to buy, and if you can buy them, prices will rise out of control. But hey, that’s all good for AMD.

But it was the remarks about the shortage of chips that prompted Cramer to ask the question. “is it good or bad for AMD“about the shortages. Su said”we have a big question, the question is very, very strong“continue their record growth in various areas, including computers, games and data center. Lisa added:”to answer your question, it’s good – it’s very good“.

Lisa said we can count on AMD increasing production so that total supply numbers increase and that they can better meet the demand, while Lisa sees the incredible demand that this year does not stop. The company is busy, but ‘working in a good way“.
